The mysterious whirring in the back of the Nissan…
Communications are now becoming a bit more difficult as the.BBs are.currently in the Altai mountains
Amazingly this blog is being sent from the mobile of BB1 Unfortunately there are no photos as they are all on BB 1s IPad!
A very interesting morning which involved a visit to a bank and a visit to a supermarket to stock up for our time in Mongolia. We were greatly helped in the bank by a young man called Dima who spoke good English. A visit to the supermarket was not quite the same as a visit to Waitrose! Some tins of unidentified fish were bought to which 1 tin was used for dinner
This did not get a very high rating!
We then exited Gorno Altaysk several times in the wrong direction. On finally leaving Gorno Altaysk a loud motor whirring sound was heard from the back of the car much to the alarm of the BBs. Having been at the Nissan dealer and now on our way to the mountains this was not good news! An investigation was made and it was found that it was the toothbrush of BB1
We then drove through the beautiful Altai mountains which is very like Switzerland. Lush green fields and vast forests of trees. As we got higher the trees were covered in snow and it was snowing
On route there were interesting stalls with local artisan crafts. We had to remain on the main route and not go off track as a permit would need to have been obtained. Now in a very tiny village and staying in the best hotel on town for the princely sum of £16.
