DAY 5: Fundraising helps this vital research

This was a day that really brought home to everyone the reason for undertaking this crazy challenge.

There is some amazing research work being carried out collaboratively across the entire world to help beat cancer – but it all costs money.  That’s why the team needs to raise as much money as possible on this journey to help fund research like the valuable work going on at the Li Ka Shing Centre in Cambridge.

Carrie Boyce, a representative of Cancer Research UK, and Douglas Hall, a researcher, met the Beijing Biddies at the Cambridge Institute’s Li Ka Shing Centre to explain the phenomenal work being carried out there by 300 researchers and doctors.

The team heard how specialist scientists and researchers are continuously making technological advancements and incredible breakthroughs, and how donations of money help towards the research and application of research in clinical trials.

More money is needed to improve treatments and diagnoses, which in turn will help beat cancer.

Please support the Beijing Biddies Tuk Tuk Challenge by donating to this vital cause.
